Give Peace A Chance

Girl standing in a lake surrounded by ripples and fog

When I look at this picture I think of peace. I think about how difficult it has been to give peace a chance—difficult yet not difficult. Perhaps the difficulty was in taking so long to understand that my inner peace had nothing to do with what anyone else was doing or saying: I just had to slow down enough, to be open enough to give peace a chance . . . to be still and listen, to allow myself to settle into myself and listen to my soul.

It took many years to be with the silence and enjoy my own company, be still and know that I am God . . . or whatever you are comfortable calling the Universal vibration that is the source of all that is. The outer world occupies our attention and seduces us into believing that peace will come when we have the right mate, when we have the right career, the right position in society and enough money in the bank. It is easy to get caught up in the rush of the world, then one day we may be fortunate enough to finally awaken and realize the peace we seek is not out there but in the heart. Our soul longs for the silence.

Today give peace a chance.

Blessings…
