Choosing Yes or No
To have success in life there are times when we need to say ‘no’ and times when it most serves life to say a resounding ‘yes’. Both can be a challenge depending on the circumstance. We feel joy when we are successful and making choices that create peace and happiness within.
Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.
-Maya Angelou
Why is the ‘no’ or ‘yes’ important? Because the ‘no’ is an expression of our power. We manage our power by making choices that have consequences that empower us—so when we look in the mirror, we like/love who we see there. When we say ‘yes’ to the fear that our mind generates around particular areas of our life, that is empowering. The choice of ‘yes’ also has the power to open new doors or to close doors that need to be walked through and closed behind us. We do not have the power to make anyone feel anything however we are responsible for how we deliver our words. Our words carry medicine, as our Elders teach us—in other words, our words carry a vibration. Saying ‘no’ or ‘yes’ can be a big part of making choices that can create transformational and life-lasting shifts. Know when to say ‘yes’ and know when to say ‘no.’ Go with your inner intuition. Your Ego/mind may lie to you, but your heart will not.
